Masterwerk GmbH whit headquarters in Munich, founder of German Center for Robotics in Tuzla, celebrated its tenth birthday! We celebrated this jubilee in best way we know how, sharing our happiness with others. We decided to bring joy to children from the Public Institution “Education for the upbringing and education of people with disabilities” and in agreement with the director Damir Muratović, teachers and children selected a classroom that was to be renovated.

Thirty employees, March 9, 2019. entered the classroom and renovated it for friends from the Institute.

In this classroom, they spend two classes with their teachers in the conditions, where the ceiling was covered with the old laminate, the roof leaked in one part, the floor was in poor condition, the furniture was deterioted. This was a challenge for Masterwerk team to restore shine in one day and make it as comfortable as possible for staying children.

This project was also an opportunity for Masterwerk’s employees to get to know each other and feel the strength of a joint effort. Our award is a smile on the faces of children and their parents.

We believe that other socially responsible companies will start our own way and through the Team Building make happy those who need it most.

After eight months of successful implementation of the project “Social and Technological Innovation Leaders  within Industry 4.0”, we can proudly say that the last workshop of this project was completed.

The aim of the project was to enable young people who live or lived in the Home for Children without Parental Care to acquire skills in the field of robotics. In addition to acquiring skills of practical nature – programming and commissioning of robots, the target group has undergone intensive training in the field of soft skills – and these candidates strengthened their competences in the field of management without using power, teamwork, presentation skills,

In addition to training, candidates had opportunity to take part in the Innovation Cafe at the German Robot Center and have had the opportunity to see the way of presenting ideas at a large number of auditoriums. The purpose of FITT was to awaken participants in the direction of self-employment and to relieve them of being proactive and encouraging them to work on their own ideas.

They also had the opportunity to attend the first week of engineering in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to attend lectures by eminent professors and businessmen, to participate in networking and to get acquainted with the companies they exhibited.

Particularly, we need to distinguish a sense of affinity between the candidates, who build trust and friendship besides the acquired skills.

Prof. Dr. Mirsad Hadzikadic, gave an introductory lecture on the advanced technologies at Innovation Café no. 2, which was held in Tuzla on 16 July 2018.

Prof. Dr. Mirsad Hadzikadic, leading world renown in Information Technology and Director of Complex Systems at the University of North Carolina in Sarlot, was honored and pleased to host an introductory lecture on the Innovation Café’s advanced technology, held on July 16 Tuzla.

Mirsad Hadžikadic is Founder and President of the Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington and the Bosnian-American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Hadzikadic currently holds the position of Executive Director of analytical programs in the field of Analytic at all colleges of North Carolina University in Sarlot. He is the winner of the Life Work Award for Information Technology Associations at the State of North Carolina and the City of Sarlote. It places science, development and excellence in the center of every social activity.

The key areas of expertise of Dr. Hadžikadić, where more than 30 years of working experience are information technology, including academic and industrial debts. After graduating from computer engineering at the Southern Methodist University in the United States, where he was Fullbright scholar, in 1987, Hadžikadić joined the University of North Carolina in Sarlot, USA. His research covers the field of analytics, cognitive science, medical informatics and complex adaptive systems.

He has written over fifty scientific papers in international and American magazines, conferences and symposia. He has published three books, has organized many international conferences and is the editor-in-chief for a science journal in the field of politics and complex systems. Dr. Hadzikadic led teams or was part of research teams who designed models and simulations of economic, health, biological, financial, political and social problems.

Edhem Eddie Custovic said: ‘’I love inspiring people. 16th July I gave a one hour presentation at the DKR – Robotics Center in Tuzla. I spoke about “Innovation as an imperative for economic development”. I attempted to demystify the term “innovation” for the audience and to really hit home the point that innovation has a different meaning for every person. However, at the core of each definition is the execution of an idea that addresses a problem and in turn creates value for an entity. I showcased some examples of organisational structures and emphasized the importance of the different dimensions of innovation – technological – social – political – religious– cultural. Innovation is an interdisciplinary full contact sport. My advice for the youth of Tuzla was simple: Think about what you can control and what you can’t control. Focus on what is in your direct influence for quick wins. Stop blaming others for your failures and lack of drive. Start believing that you can! Start believing that we can! I say “we” because “a country’s wealth correlates with its collective knowledge”. We have to increase investment into research and development. Bosnia & Herzegovina ranks amongst the bottom 10% in the world for investment into R &D (total and % percentage of GDP). Our risk averse culture and satisfaction with status quo is the main reason we struggle to make any serious gains. On average a human being is told almost 150,000 times “You can’t do that” by the time they turn 18 years old. Eventually you start believing it. We simply have to remove ourselves from this mindset. What i walked away with from this evening is that there is hope. I met so many young people who are rallying and want to make a difference. Thank you Tuzla.’’

Edhem (Eddie) Čustović lives in Melbourne, Australia, where he works at the prestigious La Trobe University as a project coordinator for academia and industry.

Numerous domestic and world media are writing about it, as it extends the boundaries of science and research through its inventions and innovations. But his journey to Australia was certainly not easy. He left BiH 20 years ago, and through Switzerland and Germany he came to the country he calls home today.

He is an active member of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (IEEE), the largest professional organization in the world. In this institute is editor of the IMPACT publication, IEEE president of Australia’s state of Victoria and vice president for IEEE Young Professionals at the global level. Since it was closely linked to its country of origin in Sarajevo, last year it organized a large congress “Technology and Innovation for a Brighter Future”, led by many world-leading engineering experts, with the help of young colleagues from the homeland to open the door to the world. Young people in BiH also helps through the Foundation “Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation”, which he founded with his brother Rešada, also a successful engineer.

Knowledge – the strongest weapon Wed, 25 Jul 2018 10:08:07 +0000 Read More

Organized by the Foundation for Innovation, Technology and Knowledge Transfer – FITT and CEE Freiraum, second Innovation Café was realized in the German Robotics Center – DKR, July 16, 2018.

At the 2nd Innovation Café there were over a hundred guests, over fifteen investors and nine startups.

Innovation Café was conceived in a way that start-ups in a short time, of three minutes, as an “elevator talk” model, present their product or idea to investors. In addition to causing great investor attention, startups also had the task of impressing the present guests of the event, more precisely, partners and potential future customers of their product.

Professor Mirsad Hadzikadic talked about advanced technologies, and Edhem Custovic talked about innovations as an economic imperative. Both lecturers left the audience ‘’breathless’’ and once again demonstrated their knowledge and ability to pass on knowledge, experience and emotions. Through their presentations, besides the professional things they have shared with the audience, they tried to motivate young people and students from the audience.

At the 2nd Café for Innovation – nine launches were presented: Gradient, Smart Box, TraceBrace, LASONA, Herba Sens, BUENO, HTS, Smart Ball Extinguisher.

Our goal is to build an effective regional entrepreneurial ecosystem that will guide young startups to the business market. As part of the CEE FREIRAUM project, young starters will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and develop a set of skills that will help them enter the big door of the overseas market.

It is important to encourage young people to make full use of the potential they are rich in and thus to contribute to and strengthen the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Following the reactions of visitors, it was concluded that CEE FREIRAUM is on the right path to achieve this.

In September, our award-winning startup in Sarajevo called “HaBeetat” goes to Germany where they will have the opportunity to get to know the startup ecosystem of the country where they will go through the mentoring process, to have conversations with big companies and entrepreneurs in the field of entrepreneurship.

CEE FREIRAUM has also collaborated with the BH Futures Foundation and will work jointly on the quality of youth education, support young and ambitious people in the future, and motivate them to do a lot more on themselves and develop their ideas.

The next Innovation Café will be held in Mostar in September, and we hope for even greater responsiveness of young people, as well as more quality startups.
