The project “Supporting the development of entrepreneurial spirit among young people” was implemented by Foundation ITT in cooperation with the City of Tuzla – Sector for Economic Development, Entrepreneurship and Agriculture, with the aim of raising the entrepreneurial spirit among young people and supporting them in the process of acquiring entrepreneurial skills.
Youth unemployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a perennial negative trend and represents one of the biggest economic problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the other hand, entrepreneurship plays a big role in the creation and achievement of the state’s economic goals, because the largest number of companies in BiH are start-ups or SMEs.
Additionally, nowadays the business world needs young and educated entrepreneurs who have big visions and plans that will implement those same visions, while we have seen youth that has expressed entrepreneurial ambitions.
Thus, the project “Supporting the development of the entrepreneurial spirit among young people” supported 10 young, unemployed people to go through entrepreneurship education, while encouraging and supporting the development of entrepreneurial spirit and thinking, thus motivating them to start work on the implementation own entrepreneurial ideas.
FITT has come to its establishment as a result of socio-economic and political needs in Tuzla and Tuzla Canton. In struggle to reconcile political demands and economic ones, FITT has developed several programs and is currently implementing projects with young people and students to raise awareness on the importance of their participation in decision making processes on local, regional and national level, not excluding wider level, which aim at creating possibilities for young people to take part in social and technological innovation that Industry 4.0 is bringing with. To bridge the gap between practice and theory, all important activities are implemented in the Center for Robotics which is the first center of this kind in the region of Western Balkans.
