In partnership with the City of Tuzla, the Foundation for Innovation, Technology, and Transfer of Knowledge successfully implemented the project “Empowering Youth for Entrepreneurship Development in Industry 4.0.” The goal of the project was to empower young people up to 35 years of age through industrial robotics training. Via a public call, students applied who wished to enhance their existing knowledge in mechanics and electronics through practical work on an industrial robot.
By understanding the basic principles of robotics in industry, students gained a broader perspective on the application of automation in production processes within Industry 4.0.
The project aims to raise awareness about the need for technological development and the level of digital skills through technical education, as well as to foster an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit through business skills training. All of this aims to create the preconditions for employment and self-employment of young people, encouraging them to stay and thrive in Tuzla and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

FITT has come to its establishment as a result of socio-economic and political needs in Tuzla and Tuzla Canton. In struggle to reconcile political demands and economic ones, FITT has developed several programs and is currently implementing projects with young people and students to raise awareness on the importance of their participation in decision making processes on local, regional and national level, not excluding wider level, which aim at creating possibilities for young people to take part in social and technological innovation that Industry 4.0 is bringing with. To bridge the gap between practice and theory, all important activities are implemented in the Center for Robotics which is the first center of this kind in the region of Western Balkans.
