Women in Tech
The project ‘Women in Tech’ strengthens and promotes women entrepreneurship and directly influences creation of new highly paid jobs for women and young girls in Industry 4.0. in BIH. “Women in Tech” has a focus on supporting women in industry as well as fostering more possibilities for their employment and self-employment.
Direct beneficiaries of the project are 15 young women aged from 20-30, current and former students of Faculty of Electrotechnics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Mathematics interested in starting their own business in Industry 4.0. in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As a complementary component, through exchange of direct target group and incubators from B&H and Germany, project fosters exchange of entrepreneurial ideas, possibilities for their realization and new ideas for business co-creation in B&H. Further on, the expectation of project applicant with the proposed project ‘Women in Tech’ is that the project will not only direct influence the creation of new START UPs led by women in Industry 4.0. (direct beneficiaries) but also inspire and motivate other young girls and women to invest their entrepreneurial potential into Industry 4.0. and creation of highly paid jobs for B&H women.
In duration of 12 months, the project provides a learning, business-oriented capacities for young women and girls, covering the entire cycle from initiation of business idea, feasibility assessment, mentoring and finally selection of three most promising business plans for funding.
Project Objectives
Overall project goal is to strengthen and promote women entrepreneurship in B&H and creation of new highly paid jobs for women and young girls in Industry 4.0.
To promote women leaders and existing social and technological advancement in Industry 4.0. in Bosnia & Herzegovina through conference Women in Tech;
To advance skills of 15 young women in entrepreneurship and business development of innovative ideas in Industry 4.0;
To establish three new START UPs in Bosnia and Herzegovina in IT, led by women;
To raise awareness of capacities and possibilities for employment of Industry 4.0. for women,amongst at least 100 women and young girls in B&H, and to support co- creation of new business models.
FITT has come to its establishment as a result of socio-economic and political needs in Tuzla and Tuzla Canton. In struggle to reconcile political demands and economic ones, FITT has developed several programs and is currently implementing projects with young people and students to raise awareness on the importance of their participation in decision making processes on local, regional and national level, not excluding wider level, which aim at creating possibilities for young people to take part in social and technological innovation that Industry 4.0 is bringing with. To bridge the gap between practice and theory, all important activities are implemented in the Center for Robotics which is the first center of this kind in the region of Western Balkans.
